The person behind the camera, the one who's going to feel like an old friend by the end of your wedding day.Choosing a photographer is a strange thing. You're inviting someone you've barely met into one of the most personal days of your life — so it has to feel right. You don't just need a good photographer. You need someone whose energy fits with yours, who gets you, who'll make you feel safe enough to actually be yourselves on the day. That's what I try to be. By the time your wedding day arrives, it should feel less like working with a photographer and more like having a friend along — one who happens to know exactly where to stand, where the light is, and when to step back so a moment can breathe.Want to see my work? Take a look at my Cornwall wedding photography, or find out about pricing and packages.

I live in Cornwall with my husband, our kids, our cats and our chooks (yes, that's where the menagerie comes from). Cornwall is home and I'd happily photograph weddings here forever — but I also love a good adventure across Devon, Somerset and the wider South West, and I'm always up for somewhere new.

I'm warm, a bit chatty, mildly obsessed with good light and slightly too fond of romantic clifftops. On a wedding day I'm first and foremost your photographer — wrangling great-aunts for the family shot, fetching you a glass of water when you forget to drink one, knowing when to step back and let a moment breathe.Whether your wedding is a tiny seaside elopement, a wild barn party that goes on until the small hours, or a classic country church wedding, I'm here for it. Brides and grooms, partners and people of every kind — whoever you love, however you love, you'll be welcome and seen.
I get it—I hate having my photo taken too! So, when you tell me you’re camera-shy, trust me, I totally understand. You can probably tell from those awkward photos up there, right? But that’s part of what makes me so determined to make sure you feel comfortable in front of the lens.
I’m stubborn like that—if I set out to do something, it’s getting done, no question! I’ve always been drawn to the roads less traveled, to people who do things differently. I’ll take the unusual over the mainstream any day. I’m not just someone who picked up a camera on a whim—this is my craft, and I’ve spent years honing my skill and developing my unique style.
I hold a BA Hons degree in Photography from the University of Essex, a Master’s in Photography from Falmouth University, and I’ve earned the ARPS distinction from the Royal Photographic Society. But beyond all that, photography is my passion—it’s the thing that lights me up and gets me excited about every new shoot.
If you’re thinking about booking me, I’d love to meet up for a consultation first. I always encourage it, because getting to know my couples is key. It helps me understand what you’re all about, and just as important, it helps you feel at ease with me. After all, we’re going to be spending a lot of time together on your big day, and it’s important you feel comfortable with me.
Whatever your vision is, especially if it’s something completely out there or wonderfully unique, I’m all in! Let’s make it happen.
«Maryann photographed my wedding and the photos are amazing! Highly recommended.»
«Lucy, married on 28/06/2025Awesome throughout! Love the sneak peek photos that are just beautiful, and captured the fun chaos of our day! Can not wait to see the rest.»
«Becky, married on 30/05/2023We couldn't ask for more from The Menagerie, we felt totally calm and relaxed during both group shots and family photos. Thank you so much for everything!»
«Where do I start! I have too many nice things to say about Maryanne! I and my husband had never had any Professional photos of us done, we wanted an engagement shoot and that’s when I stumbled across The Menagerie Lifestyle page. We wanted an outside and that was Walton on the Naze. It was an early evening shoot with our little dog as well and Maryanne & Nathan made us feel so comfortable. I was super happy with the engagement pictures when they came through and was so happy when Maryanne said she was able to do our wedding in Tenerife a few months later. Our day in Tenerife was about 35 degrees and everyone was so hot, in all the pictures you would never know that we were all dying of heat stroke. Maryanne captures moments in time that you never want to forget, I was getting ready with my bridesmaids and flower girls of all different ages. The room was a mess and we were all fanning each other, the pictures came out amazing! Something that I would have thought to have been chaos was perfection. I seriously cannot choose which photos I want to print out and put on the walls of our home as I love them all so much. I will always use The menagerie lifestyle for future shoots, whether it be for work, personal or family she is my go-to photographer. You will not regret going with them xx»
«Samantha, married on 26/10/2024Your wedding day. Probably one of the most profound days of your life. The special day is like a fleeting memory that goes by in the blink of an eye. That's why choosing the right photographer is so important - someone who will not only take stunning images of you and your guests, but will also truly capture the essence of the day and everything that makes it special for you. That's exactly what Maryann did for our wedding day. Every single image she took is truly beautiful and authentic and gives us the opportunity to relive this special day as if it just happened. But what I love the most about her style of photography is that it perfectly captures the feelings of the day - the emotions, the joy, the love. She is also a wonderful person to work with - friendly, flexible, and extremely creative. I could not recommend her more highly!»
