I’m Maryann, a Cornwall-based photographer with a documentary heart and a quiet obsession with good light. I photograph weddings, families, maternity, and businesses across Cornwall, Devon, and the wider South West. Every single one of them gets the same thing: my full attention, a genuine love for storytelling, and photographs that feel like you.
My style is documentary at its core, I’m watching, I’m waiting, I’m catching the things that happen in the gaps between the official moments. The bridesmaid fixing a veil. The groom’s hand finding his partner’s. The flower girl who’s decided she’s done with flowers and is now eating cake. The speeches that make grown adults cry. The first dance when everyone forgets they’re being watched.
I work with couples of all kinds, brides and grooms, two brides, two grooms, partners and people of every gender. Your love story gets told honestly, beautifully, and entirely on your terms.
Family sessions are one of my favourite things to do. Not the stiff, formal, everyone-in-matching-outfits kind, the real kind. The kind where the toddler refuses to stand still, the dog gets in every shot, and someone inevitably ends up crying (usually the parents, because these moments go so fast).
I photograph families on beaches, in their gardens, in fields, in their homes. Wherever you feel most like yourselves. I won’t line you up. I’ll just spend a bit of time with you, and we’ll wander, and I’ll catch it all. I promise you’ll get photographs you actually want to print.
There’s a particular magic to maternity photography that I never get tired of. You’re right in the middle of something enormous, this tender, exhausting, transformative thing, and a photograph can hold that forever. I photograph maternity sessions with the same quiet documentary approach: natural light, real locations, and absolutely no pressure to pose in ways that don’t feel like you.
