Say I love you with a Valentine’s engagement photoshoot

Why not say I love you with a Valentine’s engagement photoshoot?  Heres my reasoning and some ideas that might work for you.

The perfect gift

Whether recently engaged, or you are planning to pop the question on February 14th, a Valentine’s engagement photoshoot is the perfect way to celebrate your love for each other.

Engagement photoshoots are very popular. They’re a great way to practice for the wedding with your photographer, spend quality time together ahead of the madness of the nuptials, as well as create stunning photos before you end one chapter of your relationship, and start another.

But, how do you ensure it’s fun and personal? Here are our top tips for Valentine’s engagement photoshoots.

  1. Location, Location, Location

Think of places that mean something to you as a couple – was your first date a picnic by the river? Why not go back? Fell in love watching a band at your local? Start the photoshoot there. Essex and is full of beautiful locations, but if you want to go further afieild, thats fine too!

Think about local areas that have an interesting backdrop. At this time of year, spring is peaking through, with winter still laying its head. Choose venues in the country with some stunning views.

Or stay home and show your more relaxed side.

     2.  On this occasion, don’t get a room!

A Valentine’s engagement photoshoot is different to any other, as PDA is encouraged. Do not be afraid to kiss, embrace, look into each other’s eye – love is the key!

     3. Be active

Taking part in an activity during the photoshoot could be the ideal way to relax you both and feel at ease. It also simply livens up up the shoot. If you both like cycling, take your bikes, or if you’ve both always wanted to try rock climbing, now could be the chance (and this photographer is definitely willing to be daring). Or how about just sharing an ice cream on the beach? Simple but effective.

     4. Your attire

No doubt you’ll be getting dressed up for the big day, so use your Valentine’s engagement shoot as a dress rehearsal. Remember these photos will last a lifetime, so get your hair done for the occasion, maybe the bride could coincide it with her make-up trial, so you’re both glam and raring to go.

Choose an array of clothes to take on the shoot. It’s good to choose colours that compliment each other.

    5. Finally, have fun

There shouldn’t be too much pressure on this Valentine’s engagement photoshoot. Just remember, the next photos you have will no doubt involve your whole wedding party, and you’ll have limited time. So remember to enjoy this is as a couple, and have fun!
