Lucy & Lee – A Love Story with Wildflowers, Seashells, and Surfboards

Torbay Registry Office & Duckaller Barn Reception | Sneak Peek

Some weddings feel like they’re lifted straight from the pages of a nove, and Lucy and Lee’s was every bit the Regency daydream I didn’t know I needed.

The day began at Torbay Registry Office, which wouldn’t have looked out of place in a Jane Austen adaptation- grand, elegant, and steeped in timeless charm. But it was Lucy who stole the show from the very first moment she appeared: radiant in a stunning gown, topped with a sheer veil embroidered with wildflowers that danced behind her in the breeze. The flowers in her hair were a perfect echo of the veil… and then, something I’d never seen before, a delicate seashell tucked amongst the blooms. Never have I ever had a bride with a shell in her hair, but Lucy fixed that in the best way.

Lee, ever so slightly camera shy at first, wore a soft pale blue suit that perfectly matched the easy warmth of the day. It didn’t take long before he relaxed into it all – especially with Lucy by his side. The way they looked at each other? This wasn’t new love, it was the kind that’s had time to grow roots, to weather storms, and still feels like summer.

Their reception was held in a rustic barn, artfully decorated with twinkling fairy lights and more of those gorgeous blooms. There was a soft hum of laughter, the clinking of glasses, and the unmistakable joy of a room full of people who knew they were celebrating something truly special.

And then, because this day was full of surprises…. the alpacas arrived.

Yes, Lakemoor Alpacas made a guest appearance, and they were absolutely adored by guests of all ages. From snuggles to selfies, they added a whole extra dose of magic and mayhem.

Still not done? Of course not.

A bouncy castle and a surfboard simulator made for one of the most joyfully chaotic receptions I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. There’s something so brilliant about seeing a guest in formalwear wiping out on a surfboard while a group cheers them on under strings of fairy lights.

Lucy and Lee’s wedding wasn’t just beautiful, it was fun, it was unexpected, it was entirely them. And if this sneak peek is anything to go by, the full gallery is going to be something really special.

Here’s to seashells, surfboards, and a love that looks like it’s been around forever.
