Let’s elope! Tenerife Destination wedding
I met Danielle & Steve when I did a couples shoot with them (and their gorgeous dog, Pixie!) this summer. We strolled around Walton on the Naze, a beautiful seaside town in Essex, capturing photos of them all together on the beach and Pixie playing in the sea.
I really enjoyed the day – we just clicked and found that we worked together really well. So, I was thrilled when, after seeing the images from their shoot, they asked me to photograph their wedding.
It’s always awesome to work with people you really like – and to photograph a couple so in love – but the added bonus here was that they married in Tenerife! Ideal!
Danielle and Steve tied the knot at Villa Monoco in Playa Adeje, which was SUCH a beautiful setting. Adeje is inland with catci and mountains everywhere you look – supplying us the ideal backdrop.
I took their bridal portraits at sunset, which is always a challenge – with an immense pay off. There’s nothing more romantic than a sunset shot, is there?!
Danielle’s dress was by Mori Lee, and she looked AMAZING. Seeing her walk down the staircase with her (seriously cool) dad, heading in to the ceremony, was a a gorgeous moment. It’s interactions like that, that are so full of emotion and out of sight of any audience, that I particularly love to capture.
Danielle & Steve’s guests were treated to an incredible meal, which was prepared in front of them on an outdoor grill.
Oh, and there’s the fact I got to spend three nights in Tenerife – sight seeing and whale and dolphin watching! Not a bad life, eh?
I absolutely loved photographing this wedding and would love to do more destination weddings. The challenge of working in a brand new environment and the additional insight you get in to a couple’s life by being around them and their friends and family in the build up to the wedding is so rewarding and makes for incredible photographs.
